Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, thinks that pricing may change with GTA 6. Implying that game prices remain low compared to production costs, Take-Two may try the $100 price in this context.
Michael Dawes, President of Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios, made a similar statement. Accordingly, he said that developers expect Rockstar to take the first big step in pricing.
Increasing development costs due to inflation have led to the closure or downsizing of studios. In this context, Dawes does not believe that profit can be made by keeping games at $69.
Of course, it is possible to say that some big studios have exceeded this price tag by releasing various versions. For example, Ubisoft, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora for $129.99. However, the game’s standard pricing started at $69.
